Think Pink

This post is dedicated to one of my best friends, Liz, who drowned our dorm room in oodles of shades of pink our freshman year of college. In fact, if I had to choose one word to describe her, the first to come to mind would be “pink.”

I have never quite liked the color pink. Perhaps, it fell under the spell of my social rebellion. See, I was the kind of kid that rebelled against what was popular rather than against my parents. Much like the Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber, and Sperry’s, I stayed as far away from pink as possible. The only pink you’d catch me in is my underwear, and the occasional pedicure. But I must confess, I am a changed woman, a social convert. No, I still don’t love the Biebs, and you’ll never catch me dead in Sperry’s, but pink may be my new obsession.

I have noticed recently that I have really started gravitating toward anything pink. Not like that fuchsia, hot pink crap, but the subtle baby pink. The kind of pink that makes you feel girly, and sexy all at the same time. My notebooks are pink. My pens are pink (with black ink of course). My nails are always powder pink. I’ve been wearing pink lipstick. My BOOK is even pink. I don’t know what’s happening to me, but I kind of like the direction I’m heading in.

I tend to stick to black, black, and well, black when it comes to building my wardrobe. Sometimes there’s a white shirt or a navy jacket thrown in there, but I think those days are gone! I am now living in color. Anytime I walk out of my room in even a silver top, or a pastel jumpsuit, Rafy says she’s never seen me wear so much color before. Is it sad that in my case, silver is considered a color? Oops.

Anyway, the main point of this post is that I’ve been thinking about pink a whole lot lately, and in honor of my transition into Liz’s world, I present to you and obnoxious sequence of pink on pink on...pink in case you didn’t get enough of it in my last post.
