Marni in Milan
So, I know I’m a little late with this, and honestly it’s going to be super short because I’m exhausted, BUT this past Sunday I checked a task off of my bucket list. I went to a Milan Fashion Week show!!! Okay, I know it was Marni, and I work there, so it’s not like a got a fancy invitation with my name scribbled in calligraphy on the front (that’s on my bucket list too), but it was still so cool! As soon as I walked through the door into the courtyard, I knew the show was going to be amazing. Traditionally, Marni isn’t super girly, and definitely not sexy, but something about the fact that the bare courtyard had been turned into a garden full of pink and purple flowers gave a hint that Marni wasn’t so traditional anymore. I stood in the “garden” for as long as I could before heading inside to claim my space in the standing room area.
Marni employees don’t usually get assigned a seat, but last minute, I was pulled from standing room only and placed in front row. Technically, everyone was in the “front row,” but that doesn’t matter. Two seats to my right was some fashion guy (weren’t they all?) with a super posh pooch, and directly across from me was Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini (if you don’t know who they are, you should def look them up). The showroom was packed with countless bloggers, Vogue editors and of course, Linda Fargo.
In case you didn’t catch my Instagram live video of the show (and I’m assuming you didn’t since it was at 4 am U.S. time), you can watch it now! My footage is obviously not amazing, and I almost linked the Vogue feed of the show, but I wanted you to be able to see where I was sitting. I know, I’m bragging a little.
Even though the music was slightly spooky, the show was fabulous. Every single look absolutely wowed me and proved that Marni was drastically changing (in a good way). I watched everyone’s faces as the models traipsed down the runway. I could tell that they were all impressed. I won’t go into detail because you can easily read the show’s reviews online, but I do want to share my favorite runway piece with you. LOOK AT THIS BAG!!! This bag is so amazing, and I want it so badly, but I can’t afford it, so if you’d like to Venmo me so I can start a fund, comment below!!!!
I’ll leave you with the pic of the pretty bags for tonight (I know it’s not night for you, but it is for me).
Night Night,
Zoey Leigh
