What's in my bag? Vogue Edition
Wednesday night, I attended an invite-only, 125th anniversary Vogue event. Yep, you read that right. I said Vogue, VOGUE!!!! Marni and Vogue teamed up to host an event to not only celebrate their 125th anniversary, but also raise money for two amazing AIDS associations, Born Free and God’s Love We Deliver. Obviously, I had to go. I walked across the cobblestone road from the corporate office, to the SoHo store. I was greeted at the door by Maia and Nick (two of my coworkers) who checked me and my boss in via their fancy iPads. Just past them, three super hot cater waiters (probably day time models, sorry I didn’t take pics of them) stood balancing silver trays with champagne and mojitos. My boss picked up a glass of champagne. I went straight for the mojito (I needed to get this party started).
In order to raise as much money as possible for the before mentioned AIDS associations, Marni and Vogue had the brilliant idea to create limited edition artist collaboration bags and t-shirts to sell at the private event. Every season, Marni selects an artist to collaborate on select ready to wear styles, and collector’s PVC bags. In this case, they selected five artists to collaborate on t-shirt designs and six artists to collaborate on PVC bag designs. Guys, the bags were seriously amazing. I told myself I wasn’t going to buy anything else for the rest of the summer (so far, I’m taking the L on that one), but as soon as I saw the bags, I knew I had to have one. If you don’t already know this about me, I am obsessed with bags and addicted to shopping. It’s bad. Oh well! What’s a girl to do?
Anyway, back to the bags. So obviously, I bought one, and it’s ahhmazing. It’s my new everyday bag because it really fits sooo much stuff. A woman’s bag is seriously dangerous territory. You never know what you are going to find when you dig your hand around in there. And, the inside of every woman’s bag looks completely different. So, I’m going to show you what’s inside of my bag.
I like to consider myself a pretty organized, clean person. I mean yeah, my room gets messy, but that’s because I have to figure out what I’m wearing in the morning! My bags on the other hand, are always clean. I never have trash, or change just floating around. I definitely neatly organized all of my things just for this pic, but this truly was what was inside of my [Vogue] bag. I just recently started reading, and have actually really been enjoying it. Right now I’m reading Sarah’s Key. It’s so good! Kinda depressing, but good! I always have my book in my bag (as long as it fits) just in case I want to read on the train or during my lunch break. I also almost always have a notebook and pen in my bag (again, size permitting). You never know when a brilliant idea is going to hit you! I also ALWAYS have chapstick with me, usually multiple chapsticks if we’re being honest. In this case, I had lip gloss too that I clearly forgot to flip over for the pic lol. Oops. It’s just plain old Sephora brand in case you were wondering. Of course, I have my wallet/coin purse. This one is Comme des Garcons, and my boss actually has the same one in black! You can get a similar one from Opening Ceremony. I talk to my mom on the phone almost every day during my lunch break, so my headphones are definitely a necessity. Remember those boscia oil blotting papers I mentioned in my last post? Yep! They’re in my bag too. It’s really rough out there in this heat, so I really have to always be prepared. I have my sunglasses because it’s sunny as hell out there my friends. I would go blind without them for real. Yes, you do see bandaids in there. I get super bad blisters during the summer because of the humidity so for me, it’s crucial that I always have blister bandaids on hand. Okay, so the one that’s the weirdest to me, is the stack of business cards. I’m like an official adult now. And, I’m having a really hard time getting used to it. It is definitely NOT second nature to offer up a business card to someone, maybe my Instagram name, but not my business card. It might be a while before I catch up to that one.
Lastly, I have two adorable pins that my boss got for me in London. Both caricatures, one is of Prince and the other of Coco Chanel. They’re totally cute, but I have no idea what to do with them, so for now, they’re just chilling in my [Vogue] bag (still can’t get over this whole Vogue thing).
What’s in your bag?
