Wake and Bake
Something that a lot of people don't know about me is that I LOVE doing makeup. When I was little I would force my friends to sit (on my toilet seat) through hours upon hours of makeover sessions. I would pretend I was a famous makeup artist and cake on the blush while smudging red lipstick (I clearly didn't understand the order of tasks during a makeup sesh). And while my friends always left my house ready to join the closest circus, I still had my heart set on being a makeup artist. Somewhere down the line, that dream changed to being a model, and now here we are, a wannabe stylist. But that doesn't mean that my obsession with makeup dwindled in any way. Any time I step foot into Sephora, I leave with at least $60 of merchandise in my bag (I know that doesn't get you much, but still). And, on nights that I'm super bored, have nothing to do, and feel like being just a little bit pretty, I spend my time doing my makeup. So, that's exactly what I did on Friday night. I broke out all my best palettes, and went to town. From winged liner, to liquid lipstick, I did it all.
A few months ago, I thought about starting a Youtube channel dedicated to makeup tutorials, but considering the fact that I don't wear any makeup during the week, I thought that it would be an inaccurate representation of who I am. I don't do my makeup very often, so I made sure I documented it. Well, on Friday, I tried (and failed) at attempting to make my first makeup video. That shit is actually really hard. I'm still trying to figure out what mirror all those girls are looking into to make sure their eyebrows are even, and their liner is straight. After about five minutes, I had to shut my camera off because I was going crosseyed, and my vision was getting blurry, not to mention I almost poked out my left eye. I know your eyebrows aren't supposed to be twins, but damn, I don't even think mine were in the same lineage. I had an epiphany. I was NOT going to be the next Instagram makeup influencer, but I did get some pretty bomb makeup selfies out of the whole ordeal. Sometimes, spending an hour on a boring night is so worth the following minutes of feeling like a red carpet celebrity.
Sorry, I was really feelin myself. I'm done now.
